The origin story of one of the most complex and controversial characters of our time — a vigilante serial killer. “Dexter: Original Sin” reveals the dark beginnings of Dexter Morgan, portrayed by Patrick Gibson (“The Tudors”). The story follows his transformation from a troubled student into a calculating, vengeful killer, beginning in Miami in 1991. Deeply traumatized by his mother’s death and guided by his adoptive father Harry (Christian Slater, “Mind Games”), Dexter struggles with his violent urges from a young age. Recognizing his son’s tendencies, Harry creates a strict moral code that channels Dexter’s dark desires toward those who escaped justice. As Dexter hones his skills during an internship at the police department — under the supervision of Captain Aaron Spencer (Patrick Dempsey, “Grey’s Anatomy”) and forensic expert Tanya Martin (Sarah Michelle Gellar, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) — he begins to yearn for a normal life and love.
